For the first time since a few months before my daughter was born, I went to a nightclub Saturday. Mich and I hit Psyforia in Boston for some rockin’ psytrance. Unfortunately, none of my friends made it out. Bums. lol. Maybe we might get to go back next month. The downside was I didn’t get out to shoot at all over the weekend, so hopefully I will this weekend.

Happy
Happy Birthday to me.
Phones
It’s been just over a week since Jeff passed away. I think about him and Kym and Carter everyday.
We got our new phones this week. We ended up switching to Sprint and getting Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touches. How did I ever live without a smartphone?
A Great Disturbance in The Force
Jeff Ballew passed away early this morning. I wrote my thoughts down on his blog, savingjeff.com. This is what I wrote:
I had the pleasure of knowing Jeff for 11 short years. He was married to Kym, whom I’ve know for 35 years or so and have been friends with since high school. While I didn’t know Jeff as well as some of his other friends, I think I knew him well enough to know a few things about his character.
Jeff was laid back. Laid back as in he rarely if ever got angry. I can’t ever remember seeing him even close to angry.
Jeff lived his life. Always on the go, even when facing terminal brain cancer, he got up and lived. Every day. To celebrate beating his cancer, he ran the Boston marathon. And despite recurring tumors and surgeries and chemo and radiation, Jeff ran marathons. In perfect health, I get tired driving 24 miles once. Jeff ran marathons as a brain cancer survivor.
Jeff had a wacky sense of humor. Sometimes I got it, sometimes I didn’t. I would always laugh at his Facebook status updates about where he was duecin’.
Jeff loved Prince and Michael Jackson. He loved the Red Sox. And basketball in general. He loved to kick back and drink a good beer.
Watching him in action with Carter was always amazing. Again, very laid back, but firm when he needed to be. Teaching him how to get up and live his life and have fun at the same time, passing the torch in a way.
His love for Kym was undeniable. Talk about a perfect couple. Kym was always right there beside Jeff taking life by the horns and rolling with it. After meeting Jeff for the first few times, I was so happy for Kym to have found someone like Jeff.
I am a big fan of comic book superheroes. I never thought superheroes existed until watched Jeff fight for his life for the past five years. Insipirational, motivational, kind, funny, courageous, and brave. These are the best qualities a person could posess and Jeff was a shining example of these qualities. Jeff was a superhero. I will, and I would hope many others will be, inspired by him. Inspired to live your life, dueces and all. Rest easy friend.
The good and the bad
We finally had a date night yesterday. Had dinner at Joe’s and saw Underworld:Awakening. It also looks like we’ll finally be upgrading our phones soon to smartphones. Yay!!
Then today I find of Jeff is really not doing well. He has hospice coming and has been deemed end stage for his cancer. I feel so frustrated and helpless that the scam of modern medicine couldn’t help him.
Well, I haven’t been updating as much as I’d hoped. Let’s see…so far 2012 has been pretty lame. My daughter has been sick since Christmas, first a stomach bug, then an allergic reaction to something unknown, then an ear infection, now a very bad cold.
We did get to try the new Not Your Average Joes in Seekonk, but I think I mentioned that. The gluten free menu is pretty good, but I ended up cheating and having peanut butter thing. Oh well, it was yummy for my tummy, but not so much for my bummy.
Wow
First retard of the New Year.

Finland
This is a very informative and interesting article on Finland’s education system compared to ours. Why hasn’t this system been adopted here? RepublicanT’s, that’s why.

Oh yeah, happy new year!
ugh
Well, Annika is slowly getting better. Still has some mushy poop, and has been getting welts on her hands and feet the past few days. Obviously she has a reaction to something she’s touched in the house. So we are cleaning the entire place today and tomorrow. We’ll be headed out to Not Your Average Joe’s in Seekonk for lunch soon. Still need to find something to do on NYE.
Holiday Update
Glad that’s over and done with. My daughter made out like a bandit, my house now looks like a Toys’R'Us clearance center. Sheesh!!! My wife got me some really cool gifts, including a G-Shock watch, LOTR on BluRay, some cool Star Wars shirts, a few bomber hats including Marvin the Martian, and some insulated muck boots which came in very handy this morning for my sunrise photoshoot. My brother got me something I’ve wanted for a few years, a Christmas Vacation Moose Mug.
