My life
January 15, 2012 by bryanj87z

Well, I haven’t been updating as much as I’d hoped. Let’s see…so far 2012 has been pretty lame. My daughter has been sick since Christmas, first a stomach bug, then an allergic reaction to something unknown, then an ear infection, now a very bad cold.

We did get to try the new Not Your Average Joes in Seekonk, but I think I mentioned that. The gluten free menu is pretty good, but I ended up cheating and having peanut butter thing. Oh well, it was yummy for my tummy, but not so much for my bummy. :)

Finland

This is a very informative and interesting article on Finland’s education system compared to ours. Why hasn’t this system been adopted here? RepublicanT’s, that’s why.

Oh yeah, happy new year!

ugh

Well, Annika is slowly getting better. Still has some mushy poop, and has been getting welts on her hands and feet the past few days. Obviously she has a reaction to something she’s touched in the house. So we are cleaning the entire place today and tomorrow. We’ll be headed out to Not Your Average Joe’s in Seekonk for lunch soon. Still need to find something to do on NYE.

Holiday Update

Glad that’s over and done with. My daughter made out like a bandit, my house now looks like a Toys’R'Us clearance center. Sheesh!!! My wife got me some really cool gifts, including a G-Shock watch, LOTR on BluRay, some cool Star Wars shirts, a few bomber hats including Marvin the Martian, and some insulated muck boots which came in very handy this morning for my sunrise photoshoot. My brother got me something I’ve wanted for a few years, a Christmas Vacation Moose Mug.

Movies

If there is one thing I thoroughly enjoy, it’s watching movies. Not just any movies, I have a fondness for sci fi, superhero, action, fantasy, vampire films. And comedies. When my daughter was born, we gave up watching movies at home for a long time. Everytime we would try after she went to bed, she would wake up crying. Finally after 2 years, we’ve been able to watch movies at home again after she goes to bed.

So we watched two that were on my list for a while. Your Highness and Daybreakers. YH was funny and vulgar, my kind of comedy. Bonus was Natalie Portman. :) Daybreakers was pretty awesome. It was an original vampire story, bloody and gory with a sci fi edge.

BPPV

I am prone to suffering from BPPV attacks. Sucks, I’ve been having an attack since last night. It makes it hard to move around or change the position of my head. I’m reading now about alternative prevention and treatment. I have to believe it’s related to my kidney stones.

Sunrise

I snuck out this morning to shoot sunrise at Gooseberry. It wasn’t all that great. I also checked out 2 other locations down that way. Llyod SP, gated and closed for the season. The other location is being hogged by the rich. Private access only. F**k the rich. Tax ‘em to hell.

La Salette

View photos at SmugMug

Sunday night, I took Michelle and Annika to La Salette in Attleboro. Neither had ever been there before. It ended up being very cold, and surprisingly, Annika fell asleep in the stroller about halfway around. I tried to think outside the box while taking pictures here. It’s such a huge place, a wide angle lens would have been ridiculous. I opted for my Lensbaby Composer with a star shaped aperture insert and my Tamron 28-75. I shot everything handheld, wide open and mostly at ISO1600.
